Are You Mary or Elisabeth/Or You a Mary Trapped in Elisabeth?
Mary
The righteous and respectable, young woman that found favor with the Lord. The virgin ( both naturally and spiritually pure from anything from the world) who was visited by an angel that let her know that she would be impregnated with the Messiah. She was newly engaged to be married to a righteous man from the same house (of David). Most people don't realize that what she was pregnant with was an apostolic ministry. In Genesis the Lord speaks of every seed producing after it's own kind. And though the seed was God's she had to as mature and obedient in Him as it gets.
Just as she said to the angel was " how can this be since I have not known a man", she was really saying "how can this be when no man has spoken this over my life. No man has made this legal. I dont have a legal covering that makes this alright! " This is the very thought many of us women have when the Lord himself has spoken something into our spirits that just doesn't make since but seems like sure seal on our heads that we will be condemned for it.
Elisabeth
She was also a righteous woman who was married to Zechariah, a priest. They both were old and it seems as if they were just living a mundane life with the husband in ministry and the wife at home. However, Elisabeth longed to produce but had been found to be barren. Her purpose was frustrated like many women. One day the angel of the Lord appeared to the Zechariah and told him what the Lord was planning to do.
The differences between these relationships:
Mary and Joseph represent Kingdom
Elisabeth and Zechariah represent Church People
When Joseph found out that Mary was with child he was upset but wouldn't allow her to be punished even before he knew exactly was going on. He was open to the truth and we know this because the angel came to him and told him how Mary had conceived. That it was the Spirit of God that came upon her. His spirit was open to the Omnipotent ways of God, he didnt box His Spirit into a mold. Mary, unlike what we have seen with Eve had a ministry before she was presented to her Adam, Joseph. Most men wouldn't have this because in times past it was unheard of. How can one be pregnant before she is married and it not be sin? Joseph received the revelation, accepted his wife was carrying and about to birth something great and he supported and protected her. He didn't sit around thinking about why it happen, he wasnt jealous but knew they could still fulfill his purpose as he adopted and covered Jesus, this great ministry of the Lord as his own.
Now Zechariah had a different mentality, that we see all too often among men in ministry who have not had their minds renewed to kingdom principles. These are the ones who preach grace but don't any in their own lives. They nullify grace by their inablility to embrace the fulfilment of Christ's resurrection whcih affords us dominion.
When the angel appeared to tell him that his prayers were answered and that he and his wife would have a son, he questioned it then gave the angel reason why it couldn't happen.
There are 2 things here that says he is in the flesh.
1) He obviously didn't believe his prayers were heard or that it was the will of God for this child. We have to remember that as priest the anointing for intercession come along with it. That means praying according to the Spirit, not the problem but God's will. There had to be a disconnect that made him unable to know without doubt that his prayers were in tune with God.
2) He made the word of the Lord limited to what he couldn't do. (We often do this and must repent of it) He said "I'm old and my wife is barren" This says a lot. Not only is he saying I'm old meaning "I'm tired, complacent and hav lost the vision" but he is saying that his wife is unable to be productive without him. In most cases its true, but when the angel comes on special assignment all logic goes out the door and it means God is about to do something miraculous. Everything Zechariah was thinking was fleshly. He put God in box and look at the result of it. He was made dumb, unable to speak. His words were ineffective because from the point of Elisabeth's conception, what would feed her the love to allow the baby growth in her womb would be the Lord Himself.
It's good to look at why Elisabeth was barren too. Many ministers wives find themselves on the back burner due to their husbands busyness in ministry, they don't get the love and support they deserves so they are neglected and bitter because their basic need is not met. This is further proven by the fact that the bible says in Luke that Zechariah was made dumb and guess what happened to Elisabeth? She was in isolation for five months. She was reflecting what the conditions were in her house! He wasn't talking and neither was she. She never showed herself again until Mary ( God's tool to stir up her anointing) showed up.
When the logical way becomes a hindrance, it can very well be in certain seasons, God will make provision. He will provide solution to the problem. When He has purposed to do something He will do divine intervening through angelic and human vessels to get what He wants to manifest brought to birth. If a man decides he doesn't want to go forward in his vision or in fact have lost zeal for it (placing him in rebellion against God) and the wife is yet holding on praying for change, the Lord will intervene. And the man has nothing to say about it though he may try but the baby that the wife is carrying is from the Lord and must only be fed by His Spirit until the husband can then come into agreement with God .
